The City of Diboll is discussing details of a water purchase from the City of Lufkin. As the contract is written currently, it would be a 10-year term, securing the purchase of six million gallons, with the option to renew in three five-year intervals. The reason for the purchase is to protect the longevity of Diboll's aging water infrastructure, Diboll Mayor Bill Brown said. In order to bring in water from Lufkin, the City of Diboll will have to spend more than $3 million to put infrastructure in place, including a pump station and piping.
