KSA Engineers, Inc. worked with officials from the City of San Angelo, Texas and the San Angelo Regional Airport to design improvements and perform a runway rehabilitation for Runway 3-21. The project consisted of runway inspections, sealing of longitudinal cracks, and the application of a coal tar sealer. The project also included the repainting of Runway 3-21, which serves as the main precision instrument runway. The precision instrument runway allows pilots to navigate in poor weather conditions using cockpit instruments as well as navigational aids on the ground. Consequently, the runway required specific markings such as edge stripes, threshold bars, touchdown zone, and aiming points.
KSA Engineers worked closely with Airport officials to ensure the project was completed on time and with minimal impact on airport operations.
