Craig Clairmont, P.E. Joins KSA
Craig received his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in Texas, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee. With over 27 years of experience in his professional career, Craig brings a broad background of experience across most aspects of aviation and airport design, including airside and landside projects, planning, environmental, facilities and grant management assistance. Craig has provided professional services on over a hundred projects at airports of all sizes, from municipal general aviation to large commercial service hubs. Craig has had the privilege of working in four different FAA regions 6 different states all of which affords him a unique breadth of experience and perspective. His contacts with local, state and federal agencies will help KSA strengthen its existing base and help expand into strategic new areas.
Craig was born in California, but moved to Illinois at a young age. He was raised in a small Midwestern town with a total population of 150. Craig quickly learned the virtues of hard work, conservative values, generosity and respect for others. With a curiosity and interest in how things work, and a desire to improve infrastructure, civil engineering seemed a natural choice. With is degree in hand, his first job was within the aviation department of a consulting firm, and he has never looked back. A passion for airports, a drive to help clients, and a mentoring attitude with staff have allowed him to garner the respect and admiration of both clients and coworkers alike. His values, aspirations and skills align perfectly with those of KSA and will prove to be an invaluable asset.
Notable Project Experience
When asked about notable projects, Craig is quick to add that each project he has worked on has proved to be notable in its own way. Whether it has been a large, multi-year program for rehabilitation of an airfield, a multi-million dollar terminal project involving many firms, or a small lighting rehabilitation project, each project has value. Some projects may gather more headlines, but the small projects are just as important to the clients that have reached out to and depended on Craig and his firm to deliver them.
The Power of Relationships
A professional consulting engineering firm does not sell widgets or produce a product. We provide a professional service. But more than that, we are challenged with bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to provide usable solutions to clients that are both relevant and efficient. That is done primarily through building relationships, which lead to confidence and more importantly trust.
Craig is passionate about training younger staff to grow. Within each person is a skill set and a personality that presents a gift unique to that person. Being able to help each person become confident in his or her abilities is the key to discovering talents that may have otherwise gone undiscovered. Craig is always searching for staff that is enthusiastic, willing to learn and can be trained to eventually take his job.
