Main Street and Jefferson Street Area Storm Drain Improvements
KSA Engineers was selected by the City of Grand Prairie to provide engineering plans and specifications for the Main Street and Jefferson Street Area Storm Drain Improvements per a recent study and report. The improvements include upsizing existing pipe and inlets to meet the current storm water demand, upsize the existing storm sewer pipes, cross railroad, and install a storm drain berm.
The project will require working in TxDOT right of way as well as crossing the UPRR railroad twice. This project consists of 24-inch to 60-inch RCP storm drain and associated paving improvements installed within TxDOT right -of-way. Crossing "A" is located at Center Street and will require closure of one lane of S.H. 180 in each direction. 36-inch Class V RCP will be installed by dry bore and jack under S.H. 180 between two existing manholes. Crossing "B" is located at Collins Street. 60-inch Class V RCP will be installed by dry bore and jack under S.H. 180. Class V RCP will be installed by dry bore. All lanes of S.H. 180 are proposed to remain open during the bore installation at crossing "B". 24-inch to 48-inch Class III RCP will be installed by open cut along the north side of S.H. 180 between the back of curb and the right-of-way line. One westbound lane of S.H. 180 is proposed to be closed during construction of these lines.
