Mount Pleasant Silver Creek Lift Station and Force Main

Silver Creek Lift Station and Force Main Replacement

This lift station was located in an area experiencing rapid residential growth. KSA’s design team looked beyond the limits of the lift station site and discharge manhole. The design team analyzed and determined that the existing gravity sewer line would be unable to convey the ultimate design flow based on a 20 year service life.

After coordinating with City staff, KSA understood that budget limitations would prevent upsizing this segment of gravity sewer line. KSA adjusted the design approach to provide a lift station to meet the City’s immediate needs for the next 10 years with the ability to be easily expanded in the future for the ultimate design flow. The wet well and electrical panel were designed to accept future, larger horsepower pumps with only minor modifications. The site layout also made provisions for installation of a future standby generator and addressed an existing site drainage issue.
