Best Firm 2019

KSA has in fact been designated as one of the Best Firms to Work For in 2019 by The Zweig Group. “It’s no surprise to me that Zweig bestowed this designation upon us, because like all of the other engineers, architects, planners and administrative staff - I work here too! I know what an amazing environment and culture KSA has transformed into over the past 5-10 years, while at the same time respecting our 40 year legacy in the industry” said Mitch Fortner, P.E., President.

This announcement comes as a quasi-continuation of our current 6 year winning streak of being named one of the Best Places to Work in Texas as designated by Texas Monthly. In 2019, KSA made a tough decision to push ourselves beyond the bounds of Texas to compete nationally for The Zweig Group’s Best Firms designation. This allowed KSA to not only compete in other states where we have offices like Louisiana and Oklahoma but it also allowed us to compete against other firms within our Engineering/Architecture industry. As Mitch Fortner puts it, “It just made more sense for us to be competing against our industry peers and in states where we have offices in addition to Texas.”

So what makes KSA such an amazing firm to work for? For starters, KSA has recently adopted an Open Book Management style of leadership. Each month, everyone in the company is invited to sit in on a presentation given by department heads and the president of KSA. At these meetings, detailed and exhaustive information is shared about KSA’s operations and activities for the previous month/quarter/year.
